Volunteering

Volunteering

Volunteers have been an integral part of our Museum since our inception in 1976. We wouldn’t be here today if it weren’t for their hard work and dedication! The Museum is always hosting special events, workshops, and lectures providing cultural and educational programming to the community.

“One reason I enjoy working at the Museum is because it keeps me in touch with my Swedish heritage. Many of the objects are familiar to me from my childhood in Sweden. What I really like is working with all the friendly staff and interns. It feels good for me to be around young people with all their energy and enthusiasm.”
–Eva Giba, Volunteer

We have a variety of volunteering opportunities. Examples include greeting visitors at our front desk, helping in the Store, and participating at one of our many events such as concerts, art nights, and holiday festivities.

Volunteer during special events like Midsommarfest or Julmarknad, two of the Museum's busiest events throughout the year.
Come to the Museum to volunteer during our events, either setting up, serving food, checking registrations, or helping to pack up the event when it's finished.
Assist with digitization, database entry, object photography, cataloging, inventory and special projects in museum collections.
